AP-Genco Managing Director and State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) CEO S. Nagalakshmi launched the National Energy Conservation Week-2025 celebrations by flagging off an awareness rally from the District Collector’s camp office to IGMC Stadium, here on Monday.

On the occasion, Ms. Nagalakshmi stated that energy conservation, energy efficiency and clean energy generation were cost-effective tools that help in securing a sustainable future, and called upon the citizens, especially students, to become active stakeholders in the State’s clean energy transition. She highlighted that every unit of energy saved contributed directly to climate action, economic savings, and energy security.

She said that Andhra Pradesh was intensifying energy conservation and energy efficiency initiatives across all sectors, including industry, buildings, institutions, and households. During an interaction with students, she stressed the importance of LED lighting, BLDC fans, star-rated appliances, and the growing adoption of rooftop solar systems and electric vehicles.

AP-Transco Joint MD G. Surya Sai Praveen Chand, CPDCL CMD P. Pulla Reddy, NREDCAP Vice-Chairman and MD M. Kamalakar Babu and senior officials of power utilities took part in the event.
