The recent remarks made by ruling BJP legislator A.K. Sai J. Saravanan Kumar have exposed the corruption within the AINRC-BJP government in Puducherry, secretary of the Communist Party of India A. M. Saleem said.

In a statement, Mr. Saleem said Mr. Kumar had openly accused the government of indulging in misdeeds while allocating restobars. “We [Opposition] have been talking about corruption in the administration, but now, the ruling party member himself has spoken about the misdeeds of the government. Mr. Kumar has sought the arrest of officials for allowing opening of resto bars through illegal means,” Mr. Saleem said.

Mr. Kumar had also exposed the “anti-Dalit” sentiments of the AINRC-BJP government, Mr. Saleem said, adding that two ministers belonging to the Dalit community have been removed from the cabinet in the last four-and-a-half years of the tenure of AINRC-BJP government.

“The open remarks by the ruling party legislator showed the fissures within the government also. The AINRC-BJP government is unstable, and we are sure to remove the ruling alliance after the coming Assembly polls in the Union Territory,” Mr. Saleem said.
