The Krishnagiri district police has ordered diversion of heavy vehicles and mini tempos to alternative routes in view of Karthigai Deepam in Tiruvannamalai from December 2 to 5. The new routes apply to vehicles other than those going to Tiruvannamalai, according to the police.

Heavy vehicles such as lorries, tempos, and mini goods vehicles should take the alternative routes to avoid congestion.

Vehicles from Bengaluru and other areas to Villupuram, Cuddalore, Puducherry via Krishnagiri are directed to the routes via Bargur, Vanniyambadi, Vellore, Arcot, Cheyyar, Vandavasi, Tindivanam instead of Uthangarai, Chengam and Tiruvannamalai.

Similarly, vehicles from Bengaluru and other areas to Virudhachalam, Chidambaram and Nagapattianm via Krishnagiri are directed to take the route of Dharmapuri, Thoppur, Salem, Vazhapadi, Athur, instead of Uthangarai, Chengam, Tiruvannamalai, Tirukovilur.
