Telangana Rising Summit set to draw big names, bigger investments across sectors

The Telangana Rising Global Summit next week near Hyderabad is set to draw well known names from the world of business, entertainment, sports besides thought leaders and members of diplomatic corps.

The two-day event the State government is organising will witness signing of several agreements for projects across sectors with multi-billion estimated cumulative investments.

List of big ticket announcements likely include LOI for $8 billion hypervault data centre project of Tata Consultancy Services with alternative asset management firm TPG; Ajay Devgn Film Studio MoU for a film city; $100 million AI initiatives and data centre project of Aqylon Nexus and North Star Opportunities as well as $100 million entertainment hub with urban beach at Bharat Future City of Crystal Lagoons and Green Panthers Properties.

Hyundai’s ₹800 crore test track and manufacturing plant at Zaheerabad; Mahindra and Mahindra’s ₹400 crore expansion at Zaheerabad; Apple supplier Foxconn’s phase II expansion, Wistron JV with Resolute for ₹1,000 crore project; Kaynes announcing expansion, the ₹1,500 crore R&D hub of pharma firm MSN as also a ₹200 crore project of vaccine maker Biologicals E; Unilever new plant in Seetharampur; Lulu hypermall near airport; and a Taiwan mini industrial park near Kongarakalan are also likely to be a part of the list.

Indeed, the Summit is poised be a big event as clarity emerges on the participants list as well as the projects.

Leaders of well-known corporate groups from Anand Mahindra, Gautam Adani, Anant Ambani, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Biocon, Sindhu Gangadharan, Senior V-P and MD of SAP Labs India and Nasscom Chairperson, MRF VC and MD Arun Mammen, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayan, Fairfax Financial CEO Prem Watsa, Trump Media & Technology Group’s Eric Swider, Tariq Al Qassimi of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) and a member of from the royal family, UAE and Brahmos CEO Jaiteerth R. Joshi have confirmed participation, sources in the government said.

Notable names from the world of finance and economics who will participate include SBI Chairman Challa Srinivasulu Setty, who hails from Telangana, former CEA Arvind Subramanian, Mio Oka, Country Director of Asian Development Bank (ADB) in India.

The organisers are expecting more than 1,000 global delegates and representatives from 500 companies at the Summit on December 8-9 at Bharat Future City. The Summit coincides with two years of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government and seeking to make most of the opportunity it has decided to unveil the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision, including the Future City it is proposing near Hyderabad.

Film and sports personalities Ajay Devgn, Priyadarshan, Rishab Shetty, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, P.V. Sindhu and Gagan Narang are expected to participate.
