HYDERABAD
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that financial assistance under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhay Hastham Scheme will be given to all candidates who qualify for the Civil Services Mains and Interview, stating that there is no limit on the number of candidates.
Addressing the gathering after distributing cheques worth ₹1 lakh each to 50 candidates selected for the UPSC interview at Praja Bhavan on Thursday, the Deputy CM said that the State government is extending financial support to encourage more candidates to prepare for this prestigious exam.
Stating that many candidates fail to clear Civil Services exams due to financial difficulties, the State government had launched the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhay Hastham Scheme under the aegis of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
Candidates selected for Mains receive ₹1 lakh, and those selected for the Interview receive another ₹1 lakh along with accommodation facilities in Delhi. Around 200 qualified for Mains, and 50 candidates have been selected for interviews.
SCCL CMD N. Balaram said that the company, as part of its CSR initiatives, is extending full support.
On the sidelines of the programme, Mr. Vikramarka unveiled the Singareni Brand Shawl, designed to reflect Telangana’s cultural identity, and also released a Singareni memento.
