Drinking water supply will remain suspended in areas getting supply from the following overhead tanks in the city on Sunday (December 7) because of power shutdown notified by the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. for maintenance work at the Srirangam substation on Saturday:
Central Prison, Sundararaj Nagar (new), Sundararajapuram (old), J.K. Nagar, Sembattu, Khajamalai (old), Renga Nagar, Subramania Nagar (new), V.N. Nagar (new), Thendral Nagar (old and new), Kavi Bharathi Nagar, Kamaraj Nagar, Crawford (old and new), Anbu Nagar (old and new), Edamalaipattipudur (new), Panjapur, Amman Nagar, E.B. Colony, Ariyamangalam, Malaiyappa Nagar (old and new), Rail Nagar (old and new), Ex-Servicemen Colony (old and new), Mela Kalkandarkottai Section Office, Mela Kalkandarkottai Nagammai Street, Mela Kalkandarkottai Library, Ponneripuram (old and new), Ambedkar Nagar, Vivekananda Nagar, LIC Colony (new), Vishwanathapuram, K. Sathanur, Anand Nagar, Sathyavanimuthu K.K Nagar, Amma Mandapam, AIBEA Nagar, Balaji Avenue, Devi School, Melur, Periyar Nagar, Thiruvanaikovil, Devadhanam, Viragupettai, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Sangiliyandapuram, Kallukuzhi, Ariyamangalam Ukkadai, South Ukkadai, and Jaganathapuram.
Regular supply will be restored in these areas from Monday, a Corporation press release added.
