50 students clear Tamil Talent Search Exam in Tiruchi

A total of 50 students from Tiruchi district have cleared the Tamil Talent Search Examination (TTSE) conducted in October this year and will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹1,500.

Of the selected students, 29 belong to government schools while 21 are from aided and private institutions.

According to school officials, the preparation for the examination involved regular coaching sessions. “The training sessions for students were held after school hours and even during holidays. Every day, tests, weekly revision, and model exams were held. The scores of the tests were reviewed regularly, and the student’s progress was closely monitored,” said a government school head.

Among the government schools in the district, Government Higher Secondary School at Lalgudi stood out, with 11 students clearing the examination from the same school. Eight students from Government Model Higher Secondary School at Thuvakudi, six from Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School at Manachanallur, two from Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Thathayangarpettai, and one each from Government Higher Secondary School at Thandalaipudur and Government Higher Secondary School at Pullambadi.

The Tamil Talent Search Exam is conducted annually across the State for Class 11 students of government, government-aided, private, matriculation, ICSE and CBSE schools to promote Tamil literary skills. The syllabus for this exam is taken from the Class 10 Tamil textbook. The selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹1,500 a month for two years while pursuing Classes 11 and 12.

This year, the exam was conducted in October, and a total of 1,500 students were selected. Of these, 750 students are from government schools, and the remaining 750 from other schools.
