The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the deadline for renewal of A4 liquor shops for the 2026-27 excise year by two days, till September 23, following requests from the shop operators.
The extension gives existing operators more time to complete the renewal formalities and pay the prescribed renewal Retail Excise Tax (RET) and application fee.
A total of 3,650 A4 shops have been notified across the State for 2026-27. Of these, 3,173 operators had opted for renewal, and 2,726 shops had made full or partial payments as of September 21, or 75% of the notified shops.
The renewal RET and application fee demand stood at ₹933.44 crore, against which ₹676 crore had been collected, leaving ₹257 crore to be collected.
The annual RET demand was ₹2,454.76 crore. Against the first-quarter demand of ₹613.69 crore, ₹441 crore had been collected, leaving a balance of ₹172.34 crore.
The permit room RET demand stood at ₹249.15 crore, with ₹62 crore collected and ₹21.20 crore shown as the balance under the initial one-third demand.
The combined annual demand under renewal RET, annual RET and permit room RET was ₹3,637.35 crore. The present demand stood at ₹1,630.18 crore, against which ₹1,179.63 crore had been collected, leaving a balance of ₹450.55 crore as on September 21.
With the extension, eligible A4 shop operators can complete the renewal process and make the payments up to September 23.
