The Hindu in School Science Fest and Ramanujan Spark Quest successfully concludes

The Hindu in School Science Fest (Avishkar) and Ramanujan Spark quest, organised by The Hindu in School at Madikeri on December 13, evoked a good response as over 400 students from schools across Kodagu district showcased scientific curiosity and mathematical talent. They demonstrated their projects and innovations in science.

Speaking after inaugurating Avishkar-2025, Major Raghava B., principal, Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa College, advised children to stay away from gadgets as these are distractions, and urged them to focus on education, which, he said, was a tool to change society and the world.

He urged students to build their future by improving and developing their knowledge base and pointed out that taking part in such contests will help them think positively and develop a keen interest in science.

Underlining the need to promote creativity in science, he complimented The Hindu for giving a platform to the young minds to showcase their knowledge and talent.

Pushparaj, academic director of Excellent Moodubidire, the title sponsor for the event, called upon students to further improvise their projects. An orientation programme was also conducted for students on the occasion.

Winners

In the Science Fest, Tharun N.M. and Kajal of Kauvery School, Virajpet, won the first prize,  Likhith G.V. and Vijnan of General Thimmayya Public School won the second prize, and Muthanna K.G. and Shrivathsa of Kauvery School, Virajpet, won the third prize.

In the Ramanujan Spark Quest, around 200 students from Classes 6 to 10 participated and five students from each class won prizes.

Class 6: First prize was won by Avin Ponannaof General Thimayya Public School, second prize by Hardhik Gowda H.P. of General Thimayya Public School, and third prize by Gaurav Krishnan P.S. of Kauvery School, Virajpet.

Class 7: First prizewas won byDakshith Gowda N. of Shanthinikethan School, second prize by Roshan Aarya C. of Udgam School, and third prize by Chalsie M.G. of Kauvery School, Virajpet.

Class 8: First prize was won by Deviea O.V. of Udgam School, second prize by Supreet Dev Tiwari of Kendriya Vidyalaya, and third prize by Rishith K.S of General Thimayya Public School.

Class 9: First prize was won by Nishanth S. Shetty, Udgam School, second prize by Bhoomika Bhojamma K.S., Kauvery School, and third prize by Aditri Ravikiran Kisan, General Thimayya Public School.

Class 10: First prize was won by Ayush Gowda, KALS, Gonikoppal, second prize by Shanthanu Aravind,  KALS, Gonikoppal, and third prize by Moulya Muthamma M.B., KALS, Gonikoppal.
