Virudhunagar district has around 1.90 lakh uncollectable enumeration forms during the process of Special Intensive Revision carried out till December 14.
An official said that this 1.90 lakh forms were that of deceased voters, absentees and those voters who had got shifted from their residences and also double entries.
“The process is still under way and would be locked by midnight,” the official added. The district had 16,26,485 voters across the seven Assembly constituencies during the beginning of SIR process.
The draft electoral roll would be published on December 19.
Thereafter, the process of handling “claims” and “objections” of the names in the draft electoral rolls would be carried out for one month.
The names of those voters whose names were inadvertently removed from the voter list could also be included on submission of fresh Form 6, he added.
The final roll would be published on February 17.
Meanwhile, the residents can submit relevant forms for inclusion and removal of names of voters in the electoral rolls would be intensified from Tuesday.
“Even the new enrolment of names of persons who would attain the age of 18 as on January 1, 2026 would be taken up on submission of Form 6,” an official said.
Similarly, Form 7 for removal of names of deceased people could also be given. People can also submit Form 8 for incorporation corrections in the spelling of names, address and also for having shifted their residences within or outside the same Assembly constituency.
