We R Cycling to organise Mangalore Cyclothon on Sunday

‘WE R CYCLING’ (WERC), a professionally managed sports club in Mangaluru, will organise Ideal Mangalore Cyclothon 2025 on Sunday, for schoolchildren and their parents to bring awareness on cycling and road safety.

WERC president Sarvesh Samaga told reporters here on Friday that a nominal registration fee of ₹20 has to be paid at www.wercycling.com. Participants have to report by 6.45 a.m. at the start point, Mangala Stadium, while the rally will be flagged off at 7.15 a.m.

Participants will ride through Lady Hill, city corporation, Canara College, Jail Road, Karangalpady, PVS, MG Road and wind up at Canara School, Urwa ground, around 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served to all. A lucky draw is also in place for a chance to win cycles for the registered participants, Mr. Samaga said.

The organisers expect the participation of about 1,000 people with the support of volunteers from WERC and the Mangaluru City Traffic Police. First aid and ambulance service will be provided by A.J Hospital. A back-up vehicle will be provided by Taj Cycle Co.

Ideal Ice Cream is the main sponsor with Taj Cycle, Kasharp Fitness and Grahini Masala as co-sponsors. WERC office-bearers Shyamprasad Nayak, Harniish Raj, S.I. Mubin, and Ashok Nithin Lobo were present.
