Grand religious rituals, including the celestial wedding of Sri Subrahmanya Swamy with Sri Valli and Devasena, were performed with devotion atop Indrakeeladri, the abode of goddess Kanaka Durga, on the occasion of monthly Shuddha Shashti, on Friday (26 December, 2025). The special pooja programmes were organised in a spiritually vibrant atmosphere, drawing a large number of devotees.
As part of the celebrations, the Kalyanam of “Sri Valli Devasena Sametha Subrahmanya Swamy”, Panchamrita Abhishekam, and special archana poojas were conducted in the morning. The rituals were arranged at the 7th floor Mahamandapam, where devotees witnessed the ceremonies and received the divine blessings of the Lord.
Temple Executive Officer Seena Nayak, who participated in the rituals and performed special prayers, said that the Shuddha Shashti celebrations held every month at Indrakeeladri have great religious significance. He noted that devotees believe these poojas bestow blessings related to marriage, progeny, good health, success, and overall prosperity. Devotees were advised to participate in the special service by obtaining a ticket priced at â‚ą1,116.
The programme was conducted smoothly with the cooperation of the temple governing board members, priests, and staff. Adequate arrangements were made to ensure no inconvenience to devotees, who were later given teertham and prasadam.
