The Gachibowli police rescued an injured peacock after it was attacked by a stray dog within the premises of an IDBI Bank branch on Saturday (January 24).
According to the police, the incident came to light around 8 p.m. on January 23, when G. Ashritha, manager of IDBI Bank, noticed the bird lying injured on the premises following the attack. She immediately alerted the police.
Officials from the Gachibowli police, Forest department and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation reached the spot and rescued the injured peacock, which was subsequently handed over to the concerned authorities for safe custody and medical treatment.
Police officials said the timely intervention helped save the life of the bird and ensured it received proper care.
