Kikani Vidhya Mandir has been selected as a finalist for the Global High School Award for the South Asian Region. The Zayed Sustainability Prize is the UAE’s pioneering award for innovative solutions to global challenges.
The school was recognised for its AI-enabled mechanical tree system, “Algae-IoT Carbon Capture Initiative,” which uses algae and IoT sensors to capture carbon dioxide more efficiently than terrestrial plants. The institution serves over 1,200 students and previously won the 2025 Youth for Earth Competition.
The winners and finalists were announced during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, in the presence of Heads of State, Ministers, and business leaders, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of the UAE. Principal Geetha Raj said the recognition affirmed the school’s commitment to youth-led sustainability and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-driven education.
