The Elathur police in Kozhikode city, Kerala, have arrested a youth for the alleged murder of a woman, who was reportedly his girlfriend, earlier this month. The suspect, Vaisakhan, is from Thadampattuthazham in the city.
The woman was found dead inside his workshop at Malikkadavu in Elathur on January 24. According to the police, Vaisakhan called her over to the workshop after convincing her that they would end their lives together. They had reportedly been in a relationship for years and the woman was pressuring him to get married.
The police had initially concluded that the death was a case of suicide. Vaisakhan’s role in the incident was revealed in an investigation later.
