
Three people died in a multiple vehicle collision on Namakkal-Trichy Road in Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

Three persons were killed and two sustained grievous injuries after a two-wheeler, mini truck, and a lorry collided on a flyover in Namakkal on Tuesday (January 27, 2026).
The deceased were identified as Wasim (30), a resident of Karnataka, Karthick (25) of Ganesapuram and Senathipathy (21) of Jai Nagar.
According to the police, Wasim came to Tiruchi in a mini truck to deliver vegetables. After unloading the vegetables, he was headed to Karnataka with gunny bags in the truck. While he reached the flyover on Namakkal-Tiruchi Road around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, the mini truck collided with a lorry that came from the opposite side. At that time, a two-wheeler that came behind the mini truck also collided with the truck, and the gunny bags fell over them. In the accident, painters Senathipathy, Karthick and Akash (22), a resident of Kosavampatti, travelling on the two-wheeler; Wasim, the mini truck driver; and Rajesh (45), a resident of Karnataka, the lorry driver, sustained grievous injuries.
Wasim, Karthick and Senathipathy died on the spot. Akash and Rajesh were admitted to Namakkal Government Hospital.
Due to the accident, traffic movement on the flyover was affected for more than an hour. The Namakkal police registered a case and are investigating further.
