A Sub-Inspector of Police attached to Madurai City police and an Armed Reserve constable of Chennai City Police are among several accused booked in a group clash between two brothers over a property dispute in Kalligudi on Monday.
The district police said that though both the uniformed personnel, who were cousins in rival families, were not present at the time of the clash, they have been booked on charges of instigation.
The police said that two brothers, V. Manickam (50) and V. Periyamarisamy (55) had a property dispute.
On Monday, the group of Periyamarisamy had attacked Manickam with knife, machete and also hurled Molotov cocktail, in which he had sustained injuries.
Periyamarisamy’s wife Lakshmi, 58, was also injured.
