KARIMNAGAR
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alleged that BRS leaders had encroached upon thousands of acres of land during the party’s nearly decade-long rule and demanded that the land be recovered and distributed among the poor.
Nearly 60% of Telangana’s population did not own land and 25 lakh families did not have even a small plot to build a house, he claimed while speaking to the media at Kothapalli near Karimnagar on Wednesday night. The BJP would launch a ‘Dandayatra’ against the alleged land encroachments, Mr. Sanjay said.
“What happened to the SIT probes into the alleged irregularities relating to power purchase agreements, Formula E Race, Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and sheep scheme?” he asked.
“Why did it take Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy 1,000 days to reveal the land encroachments under the previous BRS rule?” he asked.
Mr. Sanjay said he had raised the issue of alleged large-scale land encroachments under the BRS rule during his padayatra despite veiled threats from BRS leaders in the past.
