Phone‑tapping probe stalled for two years, alleges Kishan Reddy

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister for Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy alleged that the investigation into the phone tapping during the BRS government had already been delayed by more than two years and had been ‘dragged on like a serial’.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi, the Secunderabad MP, when asked about former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao being summoned for questioning, referred to the latter’s daughter and MLC K. Kavitha accusing that even her husband’s phone had been tapped.

When phones of even High Court judges were allegedly tapped, the issue is not who was targeted, but that it happened through the government. Phones of all sides were tapped,” claimed Mr. Kishan Reddy. “The law must take its own course in the phone-tapping case, especially since the Telangana government has submitted an affidavit to the High Court,” he said.

The BJP leader also stated that people of Telangana had lost trust in both the BRS and Congress due to their ‘support for corruption’. While Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s family is fighting over money shares, ministers in Revanth Reddy’s government are also fighting over money shares, he alleged.

He criticised the State government for failing to provide retirement benefits to employees and claimed that the pending dues for the Singareni Colleries Coal Company had touched ₹51,000 crore. “People have lost trust in both parties and will teach them a lesson in the municipal polls. We are confident the BJP will perform well in the local body elections,” he added.
