The regional CII industrial summits held in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday (October 7) highlighted that the Andhra Pradesh government has placed strong emphasis on futuristic sectors, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced data centres, fintech, and semiconductor manufacturing to drive industrial growth in North Coastal Andhra regions of —Srikakulam, Parvatipuram-Manyam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli and Alluri Sitharama Raju districts.
According to Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath, who led the summit said that the northern industrial belt is being systematically being developed as a high-tech knowledge and manufacturing hub.
“The State made a region specific investment presentation. The focus sectors for this region are AI, data centres, fintech and semiconductors,” said Mr. Bharath.
31 MoUs and sectoral push
The regional summit—held as a precursor to the upcoming global partnership meet scheduled for November—resulted in the signing 31 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) valued at ₹21,495 crore.
Mr. Bharath said that the State government is aggressively pursuing decentralised economic growth through five regional conferences to foster local enterprise networks and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Executives from prominent companies including Fluentgrid, Bharat Biotech, ReNew Photovoltaics, and Granules India shared their experiences of investing in Andhra Pradesh. They highlighted the administrative support, single-window clearances, and the availability of skilled talent.
Future Economy
The government is capitalising on the regions strategic location along the eastern coastline, to develop high-capacity data centre infrastructure to cater to the growing demand from AI-driven enterprise. Clean-tech projects, such as those by ReNew Photovoltaics, are strategically aligned to supply uninterrupted green power to support the upcoming power-intensive data corridors and semiconductor units.
The Minister emphasised that the State cabinet had cleared massive investment proposals, as part of an ambitious long-term target of attracting around ₹23 lakh crore in cumulative investments and creating 20 lakh jobs over the next five years.
“The government is also working on creating a new MSME Act and rationalisation of NOCs,” said Mr. Bharath
