The electorate in Thanjavur district has come down by about 9.84% after the enumeration carried out under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
As many 2,06,503 names, including 22,279 absent voters, 66,842 who had migrated permanently, 1,09,241 dead voters, 7,989 double entries, and 152 others, have been removed from the draft electoral rolls, District Election Officer and Collector B. Priyanka Pankajam said.
As the draft electoral rolls released by the Collector on Friday, the eight Assembly constituencies in the district had 18,92,058 voters, including 9,71,935 women, 9,19,973 men and 150 others. Prior to the enumeration, the district had 20,98,561 voters.
Eligible voters, if their names had been left out, can apply for inclusion or corrections by submitting Form 6 or Form 8 to the Booth Level Officers till January 18. The BLOs would issue notices to such voters and pass final orders on their applications.
Persons who turn 18 on January 1 are eligible for inclusion, she said.
Applicants would have to submit any one of the 13 identity documents specified by the Election Commission as proof of their claim.
SIR in Tiruvarur
In the four Assembly constituencies in Tiruvarur district, 1,29,480 names have been deleted from the draft electoral rolls after the enumeration. These included 46,942 dead voters, 24,845 absent, 51,935 shifted, and 408 others. This apart, 5,350 double entries were removed.
As the draft electoral rolls, the district has 9,46,097 electors including 4,65,933 men, 4,80,111 women and 53 others, Collector V. Mohanachandran said.
