The Additional Director (Infrastructure) of the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), P.M.N. Mujibeer Rahumaan, inspected various developmental works in Salem Corporation on Wednesday (September 30, 2026).
Mr. Rahumaan inspected fogging machines used by the conservancy workers to eradicate mosquitoes at Vanniyar Nagar (Ward 26) on Meyyanur Main Road in the Sooramangalam zone. He also inspected production of manure from vegetable waste at the micro composting centre (MCC) on Meyyanur Main Road and inspected the animal birth control (ABC) centre functioning at Shevapet. He also questioned about the treatment methods for the dogs at the centre.
Later, Mr. Rahumaan inspected the MCC at Chettichavadi, a bridge construction and green park works at Sengalanai in the Ammapet zone. He also inspected the electric motors used to remove rainwater stagnation during monsoon, and visited the sewage treatment plant (STP) at Vellakuttai, the sewer pumping station at Kondalampatti, a water tank constructed under the State disaster relief fund at Ward 4 in the Hasthampatti zone, the Ayyasamy park in the Ammapet zone, and oversaw the desilting works at the Thirumanimutharu river in Kandampatti.
Mr. Rahumaan also interacted with the residents in Annapuram (Ward 18) and inspected the household garbage segregated it into four categories during collection.
Salem Corporation Lalitaditya Neelam and officials from departments concerned were present during the inspection.
