The 14th edition of the Admiral’s Cup International Sailing Regatta concluded on Saturday (December 13) with a colourful closing ceremony at Ettikulam Beach, Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, marking the end of five days of intense competition involving over 30 teams from around the world.
Team INA (India), represented by Cadets Indushankar and Himanshu, won the Admiral’s Cup 2025, while Team NDA (India), represented by Cadets Aman and Kartikey, finished second. Team Poland, represented by Cadets Tymon and Milosz, secured the third position.
In the Men’s Individual category, Cadet Maxime of Italy clinched the title, followed by Cadet Tomer of Israel and Cadet Papanikitas of Greece. In the Women’s Individual category, Cadet Polina of Russia emerged the winner, with Cadet Andrea of New Zealand and Cadet Jerl of the Philippines finishing second and third, respectively.
Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy, presided over the closing ceremony and presented the trophies and awards. Congratulating the participants, he said the Admiral’s Cup had evolved into a globally recognised event that reflected international maritime cooperation and sportsmanship.
The regatta, sailed in the ILCA 6 class from December 9 to 13, featured closely contested races in challenging wind and sea conditions off the Ezhimala coast. A total of 32 countries participated, along with teams from the Indian Naval Academy and the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla.
In addition to competitive sailing, foreign teams took part in cultural and outreach programmes, including visits to INA’s training facilities, a trek to Mount Dilli, and cultural events showcasing India’s heritage.
