AIADMK State Secretary A. Anbalagan has urged the Chief Minister to convene a Cabinet meeting to grant regularisation of various sector of employees who have been on prolonged stir to protect their livelihood.
Mr. Anbalagan told the media that by ignoring the Supreme Court directive to regularise the services of those who have worked in government departments for three years, the government was betraying the interests of thousands of employees, including Anganwadi workers and assistants, Bal Sevika workers, primary school teachers, lecturers, part-time lecturers, daily wage workers, and nurses.
As the appointments were made based on the orders of the Chief Secretary, there was no justification in saying that these employees could not be made permanent, he contended.
The government must immediately convene a Cabinet meeting and make a policy decision to regularise the services of thousands of employees appointed during the previous administration, the AIADMK leader said.
