While many in attendance were wondering about the absence of Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh at the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, the Chief of the Air Staff delivered an unexpected moment that drew attention across the parade ground.
The Air Chief took everyone by surprise when he flew past above the parade ground in a Kiran aircraft, making a dramatic aerial appearance during the ceremony. The flypast came as the parade was underway, momentarily shifting focus skyward before the event continued as scheduled.
The 61-year-old officer is no stranger to cockpit duties even after assuming the top post. Just a month ago, he flew a Rafale fighter jet as part of a two-aircraft formation in which President Droupadi Murmu flew a sortie.
