Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha said that Anakapalli district recorded a 23 per cent reduction in overall crime in 2025 compared to the previous year. He released the Annual Crime Report 2025 at a press conference held at the District Police Office on Tuesday (December 30, 2025).
Mr. Sinha said that the total crime cases have come down from 7,573 in 2024 to 5,821 in 2025, crime against women also declined from 387 to 291 in the last two years. He attributed the decline to the focused enforcement, effective use of technology, and strong community cooperation.
The SP said that this year, Anakapalli district has recorded 417 bodily offences, as against 591 in 2024, a significant drop of about 29 per cent. He said that this year, 11 cases of murders were reported as against 17 in 2024.
Property and Economic Offences saw a marginal increase of three per cent from 406 in 2024 to 417 in the year 2025. Cases of cyber crime were increased from 61 cases in 2024 to 76 this year, the SP added.
Mr. Tuhin Sinha also said that fatal road accidents had reduced by seven per cent, and non-fatal injury accidents had declined by 12 per cent.
With stringent measures, the number of NDPS cases have reduced from 162 during the year 2024 to 128 in 2025, which is about 21 per cent. As many as 128 NDPS cases were registered in which 411 persons were arrested. Seizure of 8,790.88 kg ganja worth ₹4.41 crore, 7.39 litres hashish oil, and 115 vehicles. The SP also said that properties worth ₹1,25,22,100 belonging to six major offenders were frozen. As many as 312 ganja offenders brought under suspect sheets.
Emphasising the importance of adopting technology, Mr. Tuhin Sinha said that during this year, the Anakapalli district police had introduced ‘Safe Stay app’ to verify hotel and lodge guests with criminal databases. 41 cases were solved using technological tools and 58 cases were detected through AFIS (fingerprint analysis).
He also stated that as many as 3,573 new CCTV cameras were installed across the district. In industrial areas like Achutapuram and Parawada, geo-tagged resource mapping and drone surveillance was implemented for accident prevention and emergency response.
