Tushar Gandhi, social activist and great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, and Feroze Mithiborewala have been detained by the Mumbai Police ahead of a protest at August Kranti Maidan in support of the CJP protest in Delhi on Saturday (October 10, 2026), organisers said.

The police said permission had not been granted for the protest.

Despite the detentions, Mr. Gandhi and other organisers said they would continue their protest and appealed to people to reach August Kranti Maidan on Saturday (October 10) afternoon.
