The APSRTC temporarily cancelled around 170 bus services in the Visakhapatnam region on Thursday in view of the impact of the deep depression and adverse road conditions, prioritising passenger safety.
Regional Manager B. Appala Naidu inspected the Dwaraka Bus Station and reviewed arrangements.
He said around 50 services on routes including RK Beach, Scindia and Gajuwaka were cancelled amid a decline in passenger movement following the closure of educational institutions and poor road conditions.
Another 120 services, including AC services to distant destinations such as Bhadrachalam and Hyderabad, were also suspended. Mr. Naidu directed officials to remain alert and review services based on weather and road conditions.
