A 50-year-old part-time art teacher was found dead with injuries at a poultry farm in Kunnam in Perambalur district on Friday.
The victim has been identified as R. Pugazhenthi, a resident of Periya Thirukonam in Ariyalur district. He worked as a part-time art teacher at a government school in Kallagam in Ariyalur district.
According to police sources, Pugazhenthi frequently visited the poultry farm owned by his relative on Periyammapalayam Road in Kunnam. He had visited the farm on Friday and was later found lying in a pool of blood with an injury on his hand.
On receiving information, Kunnam police rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to the Perambalur Government Hospital for an autopsy.
During the investigation, witnesses reportedly told the police that three men had chased Pugazhenthi at the farm. The suspects were identified as S. Manikandan and Navaneetha Krishnan, from Ariyalur district, and J. Sivasurya from Kunnam.
The police have launched a search for the three suspects and the motive behind the murder is yet to be established.
