Five officials of Aruppukottai panchayat union, including its Block Development Officer, N. Kaja Maiden Banthe Navas, have been placed under suspension for misappropriation of funds and dereliction of duties.
Virudhunagar Collector Sharanya Ari issued the orders of placing them under suspension from service on Saturday.
Among them are Assistant Engineer M. Arjunan, Deputy BDO R. Duraikannan, Accountant R. Saravanakumar and Rural Welfare Officer P. Bharakat Bapita Banu.
