Delays in payments, coupled with a proposed move to disable key service-linked incentives, triggered protests by ASHA workers in Mysuru on Tuesday, with the protesters submitting a memorandum to the District Health and Family Welfare Officer seeking urgent intervention.

Under the banner of the Mysuru district committee of Karnataka State Joint ASHA Workers’ Association (AIUTUC), the protesters alleged that their monthly honorarium and central incentives have remained irregular for nearly a year.
