Accredited Social Health Activist Workers (ASHA) on Monday staged a protest at Dindigul Collectorate pressing for their charter of demands including salary hike. Over 100 ASHA workers participated in the protest.

The ASHA workers said the services should be regularised and they should be given a monthly salary of ₹26,000. They said the salary should be paid on time between the first and fifth of every month. They should be provided travel and mobile allowance, they said.

They said the workers were made to work overtime. This should be stopped and the workers should be treated properly. The workers should be given better incentives and Gratuity, PF and ESI should be implemented for the benefit of the workers, they said.
