‘Avalkkoppam’, a get-together expressing solidarity with the survivor in the actor assault case, will be held at the Mananchira open stage in Kozhikode on January 2.
The event is being organised by the Kozhikode Cultural Collective, which encompasses organisations from various walks of life in the city, including cultural and women’s organisations.
Participants will take out a march from the BEM School premises in Mananchira to the open stage ahead of the event. Filmmaker Anjali Menon and actor Prakash Bare, among others, are expected to take part in the three-hour-long event, which will include cultural programmes.
Activist K. Ajitha is the chairperson of the organising committee, while scriptwriter Deedhi Damodaran is the convener.
