B.Tech student drowns at Rushikonda Beach

A 21-year-old B.Tech student allegedly drowned at Rushikonda Beach on Sunday (February 15, 2026). According to city police, the deceased identified as Aravind had gone to the beach along with his friends for a swim, however, he and another youth were reportedly swept away by strong currents. Lifeguards immediately rushed to their rescue and managed to pull both of them ashore. But, despite their efforts, Aravind could not be saved. The other youth was rescued and is currently undergoing treatment. The body of the deceased was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.
