The Malkajgiri police have imposed a temporary ban on the operation of drones, paragliders and remotely controlled microlight aircraft in parts of Secunderabad in view of the Republic Day celebrations scheduled to be held at the Parade Grounds on January 26, 2026.
According to a notification issued by Malkajgiri Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ch. Sridhar, on Thursday (January 22, 2026), all flying activities involving remotely controlled drones of any capacity, paragliders and microlight aircraft will be prohibited within the limits of Begumpet, Market and Maredpally police stations.
The restrictions will be in force on January 26 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The order was issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) as a preventive measure to avoid any danger to the public and to ensure safety and security during the celebrations. Police have warned that any person found violating the order will be liable for action under the relevant provisions of law.
