The new trailer for Blade Runner 2099, starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, offers a closer look at the dystopian future of the Blade Runner franchise ahead of its November 25 premiere on Prime Video.

Prime Video has released a new trailer for Blade Runner 2099, its upcoming science-fiction limited series set 50 years after the events of Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049. The series stars Yeoh as Olwen, a Replicant nearing the end of her life, and Schafer as Cora, a fugitive who assumes the identity of a Blade Runner. The eight-episode series will premiere on November 25, 2026, with all episodes arriving on the same day.

Set in a transformed Los Angeles, the story follows Cora as she is forced to work with Olwen to track down a runaway whose secrets threaten to destabilise the city. The series explores a world in which Replicants have gained power, while humans struggle with their diminished place in society. The trailer previews the uneasy partnership between the two women as they navigate the conflict surrounding the missing individual.

The cast also includes Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben, alongside recurring guest stars Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke and Maurizio Lombardi. Silka Luisa, known for Shining Girls, created the series and serves as showrunner. Ridley Scott, who directed the original Blade Runner (1982), serves as an executive producer, alongside several members of the creative team behind earlier instalments.

The Blade Runnerfranchise began with Scott’s 1982 film starring Harrison Ford, based on Philip K. Dick’s 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049, released in 2017, continued the story with Ryan Gosling and Ford. The new series expands the franchise with original characters and a storyline centred on identity, mortality and the balance of power between humans and Replicants.
