The bodies of the two boys who went missing while playing in the sea near IT SEZ Junction near Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam on October 2, were recovered on Saturday.
S. Surya Prakash, S. Nitish and P. Prasanth, all Class IX students from Madhurawada, had gone to the beach with three other friends on Friday. They were playing in the water when strong waves pulled three of them into the sea.
While Prasanth’s body was recovered on Friday, the bodies of Surya Prakash and Nitish were traced on Saturday. All three bodies were shifted to King George Hospital (KGH) for a post-mortem examination.
A search operation was launched after the other boys raised an alarm. Apart from a scuba-diving team, local swimmers, community guards, Marine Police and Coast Guard personnel also took part in the search operation.
The grief-stricken parents and relatives broke down as the bodies were brought to the KGH.
Bheemunipatnam MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao visited the KGH and consoled the bereaved families.
