A 15-year-old boy was found murdered and a 24-year-old youth, who is believed to be his friend, ended his life in the district on Friday.
N. Koushik, a resident of Kottamedu near K.R. Thoppur, was a class X student in a government school. V. Sivaraj, a resident of Chittanur, was a powerloom worker. On Thursday evening, Koushik, along with Sivaraj, went on a bike from his home and did not return.
His parents searched for him and on Friday morning, Koushik’s body was found with strangulation marks at Mettukadu on Edanganasalai-K.R. Thoppur Road. At one kilometre from the spot, they found that Sivaraj had ended his life. On information, the Magudanchavadi police came to the spot and sent the bodies to Salem Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The police suspect Sivaraj might have killed the boy and ended his life. The police registered a case and are investigating further.
