Boy knocked down by car dies

A 13-year-old boy was killed after being knocked down by a car on the Dindigul-Tiruchi national highway at Manjampatti in the district on Monday.  The boy, a Class VII student of a matriculation school, was crossing the highway in the evening after the school hour when the car knocked him down.

The boy was identified as T. Rishanth Anthony of Malayadipatti village. The injured boy was rushed to hospital and was declared dead. The car driver was later detained. The Manapparai police are investigating.
