Speakers at a skill development programme on ‘Operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments’, organised by Sri Venkateswara University’s Physics department, called upon the faculty members to build a culture of ‘laboratory excellence’ and excel in the areas of competence, safety, and accountability.
The week-long programme for faculty, conducted in association with Western Regional Instrumentation Centre (WRIC) Mumbai, a national facility of the UGC, began at SVU Senate Hall here on Monday (December 15, 2025).
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) vice-chairman S. Vijayabhaskara Rao appreciated the universities for possessing state-of-the-art laboratories with costly instruments aimed at pursuing high-end research.
WRIC’s Senior Technical Officer and Programme coordinator N. Nageswara Rao said the week-long programme would expose the participating faculty members to sophisticated equipment.
SVU Rector Ch. Appa Rao, Registrar M. Bhupathi Naidu and event coordinator B. Devaprasad Raju participated.
