Cancer patients of CMCH told to buy essential drug from outside due to unavailability

A section of the cancer patients visiting the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) have alleged that they were asked to buy an essential and costly drug from a private individual due to its unavailability at the hospital.

Patients were told that ‘Bortezomib injection IP 2mg’ was not available at the hospital. They were allegedly given the contact number of a private individual, who would deliver the drug near the hospital campus.
