
The committee will submit its recommendations within 2 months after its first meeting on December 15.

The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on Friday constituted a 15-member committee, consisting of academicians, healthcare professionals and automotive research institutes, to control air pollution caused by vehicular emission.
The committee, chaired by Professor Ashok Jhunjhunwala of IIT Madras and Randeep Guleria, former director of AIIMS Delhi,will review policies related to clean mobility, including BS norms, electric mobility initiatives and fuel efficiency standards across Delhi-NCR.
“It [the committee] will also examine technological readiness, infrastructural requirements, cost implications and incentive plans for an accelerated Electric Vehicle (EV) transition across vehicle segments,” a press release by the CAQM read.
The first meeting of the committee will take place on December 15 and will submit its recommendations within a period of two months.
