President of the Chamber of Commerce-Vizianagaram Kapuganti Prakash said on Sunday that the Union government’s budget tabled in the Parliament will ensure quick development of backward areas and also on small and medium industries with allocations of additional funds for the MSME segment.
Reacting to the budget, he said that the establishment of new industrial hubs, creation of ₹10,000 crore growth fund will boost the morale of entrepreneurs in the country. The past president of the chamber P.S.C. Nageswara Rao urged the Centre to reduce penalties on late payment of taxes since it would become a big burden for small and medium traders.
Former vice-chancellor of B.R. Ambedkar University Hanumanthu Lajapathi Rai hailed the reduction of TDS from five percent to two percent on expenses related to education and foreign education.
