T.S. Chandrasekar, chairman and chief gastroenterologist, MedIndia Hospitals, Chennai, received the 2026 ISG FP Antia Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG) from Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda during the joint meeting of the ISG and the World Congress of Gastroenterology in New Delhi on September 30.

World Gastroenterology Organization president Carolina Olano was also present.

The award is in recognition of Dr. Chandrasekar’s outstanding contributions to gastroenterology through his dedicated clinical work and research, teaching, and mentorship, making a lasting impact on the gastroenterology specialty and inspiring generations of gastroenterologists, the citation of the award said
