Appreciating the efforts of Chinmaya Mission in preserving the country’s spiritual heritage through meaningful publications, High Court Judge Justice G.R. Swaminathan wanted such institutions to encourage readers to study the timeless wisdom of Adi Sankaracharya.
Speaking at a book release function organised at the Chinmaya Mission, the Judge said that dissemination of knowledge on the culture and tradition of the country to the youngsters was essential.
Through the Mission and its volunteers, the message must reach the masses, he added.
The Chinmaya Mission organised the release of Prashnottara Ratnamalika, an English rendering and commentary on the timeless work of Jagadguru Sri Adi Sankaracharya, authored by Swami Sivayogananda on Saturday.
Industrialist Jayapradeep in his address highlighted the relevance in presenting the profound teachings of Advaita Vedanta in a simple question-and-answer format for young readers.
The first copy of the book was received by neurologist D. Ramasubramanian, and former Professor and Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre Head (Department of Medicine) P. Krishnamoorthi.
Felicitating the author Swami Sivayogananda, the speakers spoke on the enduring relevance of Vedantic wisdom in leading a purposeful and balanced life.
Delivering the benediction address, Swami Sivayogananda, Resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Madurai, explained the significance of Prashnottara Ratnamalika as a concise yet profound guide for spiritual seekers.
He emphasised that Adi Sankaracharya’s teachings continue to inspire self-enquiry, right living and the pursuit of self-knowledge.
