Chinmaya Mission Madurai has been continuing its sustained endeavour to take the message of Srimad Bhagavad Gita to school children at a young age, in keeping with the vision of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.
This year, children from various schools participated in the preliminary-level competition from which, 653 among them were selected for the finals, which was held for two days – October 3 and 4 covering various categories.
The first day (finals) competition was presided over by Chinmaya Mission Madurai president M.P.S. Thirumalaiappan, Meenakshi Mission Hospital Head (Department of Medicine) P. Krishnamoorthi and the second day of the final-level competition was presided over by Dr. S. Sundararajan of Vadamalayan Hospital and inaugurated by Br. Jitesh Chaitanya.
It was an opportunity for the students to demonstrate their proficiency in chanting the prescribed verses of the Bhagavad Gita. The event reflected the dedicated efforts of Chinmaya Mission Madurai in encouraging children to learn, chant and imbibe the timeless message and values of the Bhagavad Gita.
The Canara Bank AGM Murugesan distributed the prizes to winners.
