The Shankarnarayana police in Udupi district arrested D. Jayaprakash of Chitradurga for allegedly cheating a person by giving 150 grams of fake gold.
The police said Gopal, a resident of Raichur, filed a complaint against Jayaprakash accusing the latter of taking ₹5 lakh from him after giving him the fake gold. A team led by police sub-inspectors I.R. Guddekar and M.E. Shambulingaiah traced Jayaprakash and arrested him in Chitradurga. The police recovered ₹4.5 lakh cash and seized a car from him.
