Superintendent of Police (SP) Tushar Dudi on Sunday appealed to the public to stay alert against honey trap cyber frauds involving fake social media profiles.
Speaking to the media here, the SP directed the police officers at the mandal and sub-divisional levels to educate the public on how the offenders create fake accounts and impersonate individuals online, build trust with victims, and later obtain personal photos or videos through video calls, which are then used for blackmail and extortion.
