
Products on display as part of the Christmas and New Year exhibition and sale at Poompuhar in Erode in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation (THDC), popularly known as Poompuhar, is organising a Christmas and New Year exhibition and sale in Erode till January 3, 2026.
According to a press release, the exhibition is being held at the Poompuhar sales outlet in Erode and at the Poompuhar branch shop No. 1114 located at Texvalley Global Market in Gangapuram, Chithode. The initiative aims to provide market opportunities for traditional artisans while promoting age-old handicrafts.
A wide range of handicraft products is on display and sale, including statues of Infant Jesus, Mother Mary and Jesus Christ, peacock and dove figurines, papier-mâché and clay sculptures, and various New Year gift items made of wood, brass, black metal and white metal.
The exhibition also features mural paintings, glass paintings, Kalamkari painted plates, Meenakari boxes, wooden boxes, Ravi Varma–style paintings, Jaipur painted boxes, key holders and other white-metal artefacts.
Handicraft items priced between ₹50 and ₹1,00,000 are available, with special discounts offered on select products. The exhibition is expected to help the public purchase gifts for Christmas and the New Year while supporting local artisans, the release added.
