Class 10 boy hospitalised after alleged assault by private school teacher in Coimbatore

Parents of a Class 10 student have filed a complaint with the District Child Protection Unit and the police alleging that their son was beaten by a teacher at a private school in Coimbatore.

C. Manickaraj of Kallipalayam near S.S. Kulam said his son studies at a private school in Peelamedu. In the complaint, he alleged that the mathematics teacher beat the boy with a stick on March 1 for not performing well in the subject, causing bleeding injuries to his legs. The teacher also allegedly warned the student not to reveal the incident.
